What Do You Do For Love?

“In 1969, James Lee Byars was collecting questions from the 100 most brilliant people in the world for the
World Question Center. In a performance at Wide White Space gallery in Antwerp, Marcel Broodthaers
contributed a question: “In a world of mechanisms, a world of wars, a world of technology […] in this
condition of this strange world – What to do to make love?” [sic]
On M.B.’s Memorial Birthday, 28.1.(1924-1976), for his 99’th birthday, I would like to address 100 people
from the art world with a question, which echoes his:
In a world of mechanisms, a world of wars, a world of technology, in this condition of this strange world in
which we live – What do you do for love?”
